THEODORE DE BRY :: PEREGRINATION IN AMERICAM

an idea of america presented to the european colonial powers in 1597 :: crucial in shaping european views of the new world - it's primitivism, barbarism, savagery, and most importantly it's inferiority, to justify their subjugation and 'civilizing' of the natives.

no actual practices of cannibalism exist(ed) amongst the native peoples of america

I think are dissertation maybe structured around the same issues. I've even been looking back at some note's from our sessions with sarah cheung...so much things that i didn't even know about historically that makes me understand what goes on today.CRAZY!!!

i know Sarah is like my idol! yeah our dissertations are dealing with very similar issues but in different contexts. but i get what you mean suddenly the world changes and you start to see all these things at work!

ppl dont change..just time passes by. thats sad but it doesnt seem we learned anth from history.
